The Graphic Label Line Director is a full featured warehouse production line box stamping system. The system utilizes Microsoft SQL Server as a back end database. This makes it possible for custom reports/data analysis to be generated outside of the base system. All reports have been created using Crystal Reports, an industry standard reporting program.

The Line Director was designed primarily for the fruit industry, however, it will work with any industry that needs to stamp and keep track of warehouse items.

Understanding Items or Boxes

Items are tracked individually. Each item is assigned a unique id number, which can be printed on the box or container numerically or with a barcode.

All items are accompanied by several fields as follows:

Type of Item (i.e. Apples, Pears, Cherries, Boots, Stockings, etc)
Storage (In Fruit Industry, type of storage. i.e. Common, CA, etc)
Variety (i.e. Golden Delicious Apples, Bing Cherries, etc)
Grade (i.e. Premium, Fancy, Grade 1, etc)
Pack Type (i.e. 20lb Box, Tray Pack, Individual Item, etc)
Size (i.e. 72 Count, 80 Count, 2 ½, etc)
Label (i.e. Sunshine Fruit, Best Built Apples, etc)
Packer (i.e. Person/Employee or Station Item was packed at)
Weight in Lbs
Pack Date
Pack Time (time item was identified by Line Director software)
Lot (for Fruit Industry, this would be the grower or source of product)
Pool (A grouping classification for items from different Lots, Dates, etc)

Other items that can be printed on each box.

Case Code. A Case Code is a 6 character alphanumeric code that is associated with a given Variety, Grade, Pack and Size of item. These can be used for UPC coding, etc.

Sort Code. These are defined for each type of configuration or production run. This is a code generally printed on a box so that the segregators know what items/boxes should be assembled on the same pallet.
